Aviation Survival Technician Tyler Jaggers was a Coast Guard rescue swimmer stationed at Air Station Astoria, Oregon. On February 27, 2026, he was critically injured during a medical evacuation off Cape Flattery, Washington, and passed away on March 5. He was posthumously promoted and awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism during aerial flight.
